The University of Bristol has an active geoengineering group, in the School of Geographical Sciences, which has contributed expert witness to the UK Government Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Select Committee. Expertise includes extensive experience in assessing the marine biological impacts of ocean acidification, the potential for carbon-orientated geoengineering proposals such as iron fertilization, and geoengineering mitigation effectiveness and impacts on climate.
The Bristol Research Initiative for the Dynamic Global Environment (BRIDGE) aims is to improve the understanding of natural climate and environmental variability and to use this knowledge to predict future changes more accurately and assess its impact on all aspects of human society.
IAGP team member based at Bristol are Professor Andy Ridgwell, Research Associate, Dr Michelle Felton and Postgraduate Researcher, Miss Sarah Jones.
